Hollyfield had dominated the first rounds and then suddenly shouted when Fury bit his ear, cutting off a piece. Tyson was first penalised with 2 points and then disqualified, losing that challenge.
It was the first heavyweight challenge in 50 years of boxing to be closed with a disqualified.
“I bit him because I wanted to kill him. I was angry at the fact that he used to hit me with my head and my head hurt. During the duel, I almost lost my feelings. It totally got me out of my duel plan.”, Mike Tyson said.
Asked whether this gesture would be made again, the former hard-weight world champion says: “No, never again. Anyway, if I fight Hollyfield again and he's gonna be hanging with me in the ring like last time, hitting me with his head, then I'd bite him again.”.
Mike Tyson will return to the ring on December 28th, 15 years from his last challenge. The 54-year-old will duel against Roy Jones Jr, a “contest with 8 rounds in Los Angeles.
