In his speech the MP The PDK, Memli Krasniqi, while talking about the diaspora and the issue of general elections in Kosovo, has said the diaspora's interest has been historically very big for Kosovo, but their contribution is difficult to measure.
Krasniqi has said it is not only enough to have the diaspora voter turnout, but that within Kuwait there must be deputies representing the diaspora.
Part of his talk on this matter:
The diaspora's interest in Kosovo historically is very great, but their contribution is difficult to measure.
The state that we have today the institutions that have this state, they're even more of a direct diaspora, but here it's essential, it's growing diaspora participation.
The diaspora should not be viewed as voting and as voters, the problem with legislative initiative, if we have guaranteed the diaspora, it is the last moment we guarantee our participation in decision-making. The vote is guaranteed, we today must facilitate their participation in institutions. The past elections have had massive voter turnout, but now we must have deputies representing the diaspora.
