Health Minister in Northern Macedonia declared that in the first two months of next year, in January or February they are expected to take the vaccine against COVID-19.
Filipce stressed that he is optimistic that two short-term vaccines will receive approval for use.
The second company after the AstraZeneca company, Pfizer company has applied for permission to use at the European Agency for Ilace, this procedure usually lasts several months, when all clinical testing stages are completed, administrative procedures begin. I believe they will give permission with the so-called emergency procedure and that by New Year's time two vaccines will be obtained for disstrubation”, Filipce said.
Filipce said North Macedonia is already part of the COVAX mechanism, and that in addition to this mechanism, they have two bids from Poland and Greece for vaccine supply.
“We cut vaccines through COVAX mechanism, which means that each producer, these two companies are only part of this mechanism, once they get permission to use, distribute the doses and then the vaccines are distributed equally to all states that are part of this mechanism. We have signed this agreement, the government has split the budget, and we expect vaccines through this mechanism. We have two more bids, one from Poland and the other through Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis, who at the summit in Thessaloniki has expressed the will and opportunity to be part of their amount of prosecution, where, as EU member country, will be supplied with vaccines through the direct contract with the AstraZeneca” company, Filipce claimed. / A LAT
