Yesterday, the Special Court in The Hague has confirmed the charges against two former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders, Kadri Veselin and Hashim Thaci.

Thaci and Wessel, together with Rexhep Selimi, have been transferred to The Hague, while the previous day, former Kosovo Liberation Army spokesman Jakup Krasniqi has been transferred there.

It was Wessel who first announced confirmation of the indictment through a statement to the media, where he also announced withdrawal from all political activities and that he would appear at the Special Court as a private person.

In the statement wessel issued, it is said this will be the chance to respond to the false rumors that have circulated over the years, since Dick Marty published his unmanaged report.

I am aware that there are people in Kosovo who think that the Spicilised Chambers are an insult to our historic war to protect the people of Kosovo from the crimes of the Milosevic regime. But I don't see it this way, I see it as an opportunity to finally respond to these allegations and false states that have circulated for years”, Vessel said.

Wessel after his statement surrendered to EULEX authorities in Kosovo.

And after Wessel, the indictment was already confirmed to former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, who resigned shortly after confirmation became public.

He at his media conference said: “We have won freedom, independence and now we are building and developing our state. The act against me and my fellow fighters is a small next prize required to pay for our country and our people's freedom. ”

“Explores gratitude and thanks to the European states that we've walked by, thanks to the US and our allies worldwide. No challenge could affect Kosovo's partnership with our allies, on our path towards Atlantic values. Dear citizens thank you for our solidarity and support in this period of time, but I invite you to remain calm and avoid any kind of public manifestations, supporters or protesters. Justice is done, not in the streets, but in the face of arguments. I thank you for your faith because it's not goodbye but good-bye. I'll see you again and we'll come out white, and that's my promise to you. God bless Kosovo.”, Thaci said in the end.

And after these developments, reactions were numerous by almost all key political faces in Kosovo and other public faces. It was the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo that sought to halt dialogue with Serbia after confirming these allegations.

The AAK also called for the Kosovo National Security Council to convene, and today it has begun collecting signatures for the initiative of an extraordinary session of the Kosovo Assembly.

After being confirmed and resigned, Thaci and Wessel, along with Rexhep Selimi, who was confirmed yesterday the indictment left for Kosovo's international airport “Addem Jashari”, where the special jet he was expected to send to The Hague.

At around 21:30, the Special Court through a communique for the media revealed that former KLA leaders have already been transferred to The Hague and, in the same communiqué, the document confirmed to them.

The names of former soldiers Fatmir Limaj, Azem Syla, Lahi Brahimaj, Fatmir Limaj, Sylejman Selimi, Rrustem Mustafa, Shukri Buja, Latif Gashi and Sabit Geci are also mentioned.

“In the confirmed indictment, it is said that at least between March 1998 and September 1999 war crimes of illegal or arbitrary arrest were committed, cruel treatment, torture and illegal murder, and crimes against humanity of imprisonment, other inhumane acts, torture, unlawful murder, forced extinction of persons and persecution. The crimes presented in the indictment were committed in several locations in Kosovo, as well as in Kukes and Chahan in northern Albania and committed by members of the Kosovo Liberation Army (“UÇK”) against hundreds of civilians and persons who did not participate actively in the fighting. The victims include persons suspected as opponents of the KLA and later of the Kosovo Interim Government, namely: (i) Serbs, Roma and Ashkalinj; (ii) Catholics; (ii) civilians who allegedly collaborated with Serbian authorities or who allegedly contacted Serbs; (iv) who were members or supporters of the Democratic League of Kosovo or other parties considered to be opposed KLA; (v) Albanians who did not join or support the KLA; and (vi) individuals employed or former employees who were considered opposed KLA.”, said in A communique.

And all these developments prompted the Kosovo government tomorrow to hold an extraordinary meeting where the only point of the agenda will be the latest political developments in the country.

Also, it is noteworthy that the Special Court has indicated that the pre-trial hearing to Jakup Krasniqi will be held Monday at 11:00 early Monday.

The only political leaders in Kosovo who did not say a word about confirming the indictment against Thaci and Wessel during the day is Vetevendosje Movement leader Albin Kurti.

The Special Court in the past two days has conducted operations in Kosovo and is not known whether there will be the same for the following days, as this court is closed to media and very rarely shares information.
