“We want to ensure that everyone has access to the vaccine, anywhere in the world”, said EC President Ursula Von Der Leyen.
The European Union's senior official said on Wednesday they will sign the contract with the American company “Modernna” to provide 160 million doses of the vaccine produced by it.
This is the sixth contract the EU signed with pharmaceutical companies to provide vaccines, bringing the total potential doses to about 2 billion. Last week Moderna said her vaccine has an efficiency of 94.5 percent.
