Tony Croos has admitted that Spain showed Germany how football and ball-free games play after causing a historic defeat of 6:0 on Tuesday in the League of Nations.
Louis Enrique's team scored from three goals in each part of the game and dominated the duel from top to bottom after the match ended with 70 percent of the ball's ownership and 23 hits in port compared to two of Germany.
This was Germany's deepest defeat in a match, since the German national team had not suffered six goals since the 1958 match against France.
Even though more has been learned during his career to win the matches this way, Real Madrid midfielder acknowledged that Spain was merely superior in every way and that it gave his Germany an important lesson.
This loss hurts. In defense, we had no access. Spain showed us how to protect ourselves, how we should play ball and without ball”, Kroos told the ARD.
This was the first defeat of Joachim Low's team after 12 matches without defeat.
Germany's last defeat was against the Netherlands in September 2019.
