One of the most prominent Palestinian political figures, Saeb Erekat, has died with COVID-19, Palestinian officials say.
The 65-year-old passed away at the Hadasah Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Ereka was secretary-general of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) and adviser to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
He was the Palestinians' chief negotiator in peace talks with Israel for the past two decades.
Erekat helped negotiate Oslo's historic agreements in 1993, which established the Palestinian Authority and gave Palestinians limited self-government in the West Coast and the Gaza Strip for the first time since Israel invaded territories in 1967.
He announced on October 8th that he had proved positive for Corleone, but his condition deteriorated, and he moved to the Israeli hospital from his home in Jericho to West Coast 11 days later, reports the BBC, broadcasts Klan Kosova.
