“ (This day) will become a big day for Azerbaijani history,” said the country's president, Ilham Aliyev, in a television address.
His announcement Sunday was accompanied by celebrations on the streets of Baku with flags and songs, writes The Guardian, translates Periscopi.
Officials from Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia have denied these Aliyev statements, saying fierce fighting is continuing.
“Sushi remains an elusive dream for Azerbaijan. Despite severe disasters, the castle city stands firm for enemy attacks,” said Nagorno-Karabakh officials.
More than 5 thousand people have died since Azerbaijan launched its major military offensive in September of this year. /Periscope
