American Embassy in Kosovo: Every woman, every girl, every person deserves a life without violence

The American Embassy in Pristina says that from the Justice Ministry's data in the Government of Kosovo, it turns out that during the Corleone pandemic, 17 percent of gender-based violence cases have increased in Kosovo.

On International Day for Elimination of Violence on Women, the US Embassy called on government and civil society to take action to protect victims of violence.

Today, on the International Violence Elimination Day of Women, we call on all partners in the government, in the private sector and in civil society to take action to protect the most affected and investigate and try all incidents”, the embassy's response reported.

During the coronary pandemic, Kosovo and many countries in the world have reported increasing cases of domestic violence.

According to the Kosovo Police, from the beginning of this year until August, over 1,338 cases of violence against women have been filed, of which four cases have ended in death.
