Albanian National coach Edi Reja has appeared at the usual press conference, where she has presented the list with 27 football players she has deemed available for the November matches and has later answered the questions of reporters present.
Italian technician has acknowledged the difficulties in drafting the list, as some football players are injured and others have travel problems because of the choreography, while stressing that only Tuesday will there be a full idea on which players should base
“Like last time, we clearly have some problems because of the coronary, which has touched some players, while others are damaged, and here I have names like Strakosha, Dermaku, Bare, Czechic, Lenjan, Roshi, Kamberi, Mersinaj, Camberi, but even Trashi and Vroon are in question. However, there are some clubs that do not want to allow players, or certain states, to create movement difficulties, but we will see by Monday which players will come. For example, Giasula plays his club on Monday and then we'll see if he comes to the gathering. On Tuesday we will have a press conference before the match with Kosovo, and we will have a fuller view of the players we will have at our disposal”, Reja said at the launch of the press conference.
Does it bother you that some of the players who play mainly in the attack don't have minutes? Have you contacted clubs to avoid a situation like that of the last time when many players were not allowed to join the nationals?
I've been talking to Italian clubs and so on, but even the president of the FSF is committed to talking. What's gone through, it's gone, but we're thinking especially about the three games ahead and we'd like to have all the players. I have strong doubts that some players, mostly playing in Italy, may not come, although I wish not that we would have problems, especially in the defence phase. However, to wait confidently in these two days and only Tuesday will I make accounts with the players I will have available. I have only one night to prepare the match with Kosovo and it's not easy, but to see. I am concerned about this situation and problems with clubs, but wait in the hope of having as little trouble as possible.
Could the last two games in the League of Nations occur, and if you fail to reach first place, can it be described as a failed edition?
Our desire in the two matches that went through was to get at least 4 points, but we only got two. We've created numerous opportunities, but we haven't concreteized, so it's clear that in the next two matches we're forced to win. No matter which player will come, Albania plays the field and everyone has to land on the field, it should provide 110% to win these matches and achieve the goal we have.
How did the government comment on not allowing the presence of fans in the stadium?
Fights without fans are not natural football matches, and I have often seen that even in the Italian championship, they look like friendly meetings. They'd help us and we'd be comfortable with our fans at the stadium. We'll do our best without fans. It's a different football and we have to give our maximum target, because the games have to be played and we'll be ready to do our best on the playing field.
Young people will play in the attack, as in the two October games, or will you trust experts like Cyclash and Balaj?
We've tried young people like Bro, who did well and did well in the club you're playing. We have also seen Kalaku and will be able to see him in the match against Kosovo, and then will do the assessments, since the two wars of the League of Nations are very important. We cannot neglect even the very late Kosovo match, since we play against our brothers because they are all Albanians in the field. It's also a very important match for those who have played a little while in their clubs, but also to try a new one. Still, in the field we should cast a competitive team, as I have high regard for Kosovo. I don't know how I'm going to prepare this game, because many players are only coming on Monday night and it's gonna be hard to see who's ready to play.
Do you know that just after the friendly match against Kosovo, the end of the Panucci project began?
We live in a very special and different moment. At another point, we would have a more complete organ to handle these meetings, but I have to calculate most of all the matches of the League of Nations. Kosovo is a late match, but not to talk about Panucci's time, as I must face reality and consider the situation and think about Albania's future as well. To Kosovo, we want to do a good fight and certainly not lose, as we always have that goal. It's a difficult situation, but we're Albania and we have to do our best in the playing field, whenever we get the chance. We have to do three high-level fights.
There's seven attackers on the list, but there's only four defenders making five and Cheppelen. Could that be a reason to force you to change the scheme for future matches?
Of course, it can be a reason, since we may remain few and have difficulties. The scheme is made on the basis of available players, since if there are no defenders, a solution should be found. Wessel, Ishmael and Jim must come, just like Hysa, but it is not known how things will go. We wish everyone would come, but if they don't come, we'll see. I'd like to move the whole discussion on Tuesday, when I have a full list of players I'll have available and talk about the scheme. I'd like to apply a 4-3-1-2, but let's see. I've played my career with different schemes, but in the three-way alignment, I've found the right balances in the background, so we've suffered a little bit, but we've gone with a lot of players in the attack. /SS/
