He has said that during the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee meeting, the EC remains committed to this process.
The “Commission remains committed to enabling visa liberalisation for Kosovars and remain in the position for Kosovo to meet all criteria. We continue to call on Kosovo to make sure all conditions continue to be met”.
Varhely has praised the removal of the 100 % tax on the products of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, saying it turned Kosovo and Belgrade into dialogue.
The 100 %s tax gap for Serbia's products and Bosnia and Herzegovina's Bonja has been a cruise decision the EU has welcomed. This has also enabled the continuation of the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue facilitated by the EU”.
At the meeting, held prior to the presentation of the European Commission's Report on Kosovo and the Western Balkan countries, he said Kosovo has failed to make progress on the road to the EU.
The political context in Kosovo over the past year has been unstable and has not been favourable to make progress in related reforms with the EU. In order to turn the focus on these reforms, in the coming days along with Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti will launch the second phase of the European Reforms Agency”.
