Liverpool's defender, Virgil van Dijk, has reacted to the terrible injury he suffered yesterday against Everton.
goalie Yordan Peckford made a terrible intervention in the Lãopool centre during yesterday's match, and the club confirmed that the player would undergo an operation, which is expected to be missing about 7-8 months.
Van Dijk has reacted with a letter to the fans, which the news releases to them below:
This afternoon I met with a key consultant to start planning more detailed details of my rehabilitation after injury yesterday
Now I am completely focused on my recovery and will do all I can to get back as soon as possible.
Despite the obvious disappointment, I am a firm believer that within the difficulty lies the possibility, and with God's help I will make sure that I return better, better and stronger than ever.
In football, as in life, I believe that everything happens for a reason and it's important to keep the right level whether it's passing high levels or low levels.
With the support of my wife, children, family and all in Liverpool, I am ready for the challenge ahead.
I'd like to thank everyone for the messages of support, that means a lot to me and my family, and now I'm going to do everything I can to support my teammates in every way that I can do it for a few big weeks while I'm being healed from day to day. I'll be right back.
