Bolic appeared at the first trial hearings in the Specialised Chambers of Hysni Gucatt and Nasim Haradinaj, arguing on charges brought against them for criminal acts against the administration of justice, respectively, for witness intimidation, revenge and violation of the secret of the procedure.
Bolic has been EULEX prosecutor in Kosovo, while she was dealing with various cases, presenting herself not rarely in domestic courts.
The most famous case was the “Medicus”, with which Valeria Bolic as EULEX international prosecutor was taken. In addition to the clinic's owner, Lutfi Dervisit, doctors of “Mediccus” were charged with organised crime and organ transplants. The trial of this case was marathon, while Bolic represented the Kosovo Special Prosecutor.
Since the establishment of the indictment in 2010, the Italian prosecutor took the case until she became prosecutor at The Hague Special Tribunal.
During the process, the Foundation Court had ordered the closure of the clinic “Medicus”, whose name had taken on great space even in the Swiss Senator Dick Marty's report, which is the basis for the establishment of the Special Court.
Bolic was a prosecutor even in the case of the “Dobrosin Group”.
“They were accused of attacking Serbian police and gendarmerie.
But Bolic's claims had failed to be tried. The case was closed in 2017 when members of this group were finally acquitted.
In addition to participating in the judgments and raising many charges, Prosecutor Bolic during his stay in Kosovo also legalised the training EULEX organised for Kosovo prosecutors.
In 2018, she legalised Kosovo prosecutors in a war crimes training. Training included practical advice on prosecuting war crimes.
Specialised Prosecutor Valeria Bolic at the session against Nasim Haradinaj rejected the claims of lawyer Bas Martens, who claimed that the Special does not have the law to deal with acts Haradinaj is charged with. She said the lawyer is not citing the existence of two important provisions in the law on Special Tribunal, which according to her is providing the grounds for the jurisdiction of the Secialised Chambers to arrest and try Nasim Haradinaj.
“In terms of jurisdictional opposition, I noticed that the defender does not mention the existence of two very important provisions in the Law for Specialised Chambers and the Specialised Prosecutor's Office providing the basis for the jurisdiction of Chambers for crimes, for which Mr. Haradinaj. As for the delivery of documentation, we will hand them over within the set terms of Judge”, she said.
While during yesterday's trial hearing against Hysni Gucati, prosecutor Bolic rejected the safeguard clause's request for bail by the chairman of the KLA Veterans Organisation's detention.
The necessary “Mbets in this phase of Gucati's detention, since there are no new circumstances that can affect the findings that have been given in the indictment. However, in some earlier public statements, Gucati has publicly confirmed that he will continue to make public any information that could be dropped into possession and that concerns the course of this court”, Bolic said.
The prosecutor's <x0... office thinks that if Gucati is to be released, he will continue to perform the same work”, has declared the prosecutor, who promised that in 30 days they will prepare the indictment against Hysni Gucati.
