The decision has been strongly opposed by the local government, which fears the extremely negative economic effects of austerity measures that could be adopted, and that would lead to the closure of activities such as bars, restaurants, museums, etc.
The new measures include limiting movements outside the Madrid region and eight other cities where COVIDD-19 is becoming increasingly disturbing. It will also apply “the rule of the sixth” -- that is, a ban on the collection of more than 6 people, even in the outside environments.
