Now, the 35-year-old cleaning lady is leaving dust to sit in her boss's office, after winning her choice earlier this month in which she entered to enable him to re-election.
When no one in the village signed to challenge Nikolai Locktev, who is from the pro-Kremlin party, he convinced Mrs. Woodgoskaya was registered as its “rival” to secure the minimum required of both candidates.
But his plan turned out to be worse, and the cleaning lady won the election convincingly, reports the BBC, translates Periscopi.
Nikolai Locktev thought no one would vote for him and that he would keep his job. But people got enough and came out and elected Marina Woodgodskayan,” said a member of the local election commission.
He was amazed and stunned! ” A woman who did not want to be identified said.
She says she heard it personally, Mr. President. Locktev asked the cleaning lady to come against him.
Mrs. Udgodskaya flooded with phone calls after her surprising victory took over news headlines.
I didn't do anything”
Since then, she is no longer answering the phone and staying away from media attention before the inauguration at the end of this week.
But in an earlier interview, she appeared surprised at her victory, describing herself as a candidate <x0false” that was not ready for a “compromise so rapid”.
I don't think people would really vote for me,” she said. I didn't do anything!”
However, it succeeded in winning 62 percent of the vote. Her boss only took 34 percent.
No candidate had campaigned actively during the elections -- without billboards, without posters, without meetings with voters.
The village of Povalikhino is the largest in a region of 30 villages. It has only 242 inhabitants.
“I have done everything I can; there are no problems in the village,” said Mr. Locktev for the BBC, failing to understand the loss.
It's obvious that people want change,” added 58 years old.
