Edi Silisufaj is the first football player from Albania to represent Kosovo. The 20-year-old attacker is born in Sweden, and with his background he is from Tropoja. He has joined Kosovo U-21 on Monday and will be ready for two qualifying matches for “Euro 2021<1>, against Austria and Andorra.
The fast foot striker hopes to help the new “ardians” return to victory after four consecutive losses.
Sylisufaj in the past has also played for Sweden U-17. He is happy to represent Kosovo's hopes. Sylisufaj has shown that he has been extremely well received at the Kosovo camp.
Kosovo U-21 on Friday plays at “Fadil Vokri” against Austria. As for Andorra, it is in Pristina next Tuesday.
“I am from the Tropoja of Albania and am happy that I have chosen to represent Kosovo. I'm proud to be part of Kosovo, I've been well received here and I'm feeling great. Even in the past I have been here and visited Kosovo very often” said Sylisufaj for TIME.
The attacker, who is going into good shape in Sweden, is optimistic about Kosovo's two next preliminary matches U-21, in which he hopes to register on the goal scorers' list.
Silisufaj says he knows opponents very well and expects positive results from both matches, which he values important.
“Now we have two big fights and we have to show up as well. We know opposers very well. Austria has a good team of very qualitative players. But we also have a good team and I expect to present ourselves worthy of this” meeting.Say Sylisufaj.
In the near future, of course only after good presentations with the U-21 team, Silisufaj aims to be part of A Kosovo Representative A. He believes that if he plays well, he will not miss the invitation from selective Bernard Challandes.
