On September 29, 2020, a case for the attempted kidnapping of a 9-year-old Serbian child was reported in Serbian media in Kosovo and Serbia by strangers in the village of Plemetin in Obilic. The boy's father, PredragVuksanov, told RTS that the attack occurred on the road from Plemetin to the village of April, when his son, a third-grader, was returning home from school.
Vuksanovic had declared to the Serbian media that he had reported the case to the Kosovo police and that he had said he did not know if they would start an investigation and organise research on the case.
Kosovo police on September 30th 2020, in the official communique, declare that publications by the Serbian media concerning the attempted kidnapping are not true and that they are malicious and prone.
“Linked to information published in Serbian media, which they say is, in the village of Plemetin of Obiliki, there has been a Tentim Kidnapation, to a 9-year-old child we are warning you that these publications are inaccurate and maliciously inclined for specific purposes that do not serve the preservation of the order, calmness and general security that Kosovo police are working on with commitment and professionalism.
On the 2909.20th, about 2:00 p.m., police have received information from a Kosovo Serb citizen living in the village of Plemetin of Obilic, over allegations of attempted kidnapping of his child. Kosovo police have taken immediate action by sending the police unit together with police investigators, who have contacted and talked to the complaining side about the phone call. The same guy reported that his kid had come home running, where, according to him, a car was stopped by him and the kid was scared, because he thought they were trying to put him in the car.
Police officials in the presence of the parent had held a verbal conversation with the child, where his statement and information were controversial and not creditable, which raised doubts.
It is noteworthy that the child's parent has not been interested in giving a statement or in starting a case, since he too understood and raised doubts that this had happened.
It is noteworthy that all police actions have always been taken into consultation and co-ordination with the competent prosecutor. The Kosovo Police Department says”.
