According to the official European Union page, Apostolova becomes the first woman to lead this mission.
Mrs. Apostolova has travelled with high positions in the Middle East and the Balkans.
Earlier she had been chief of the EU delegation in Libya from 2013 until 2016, while the EU Office for Kosovo chief from September 2016 until August 2020.
