This is the highest daily figure in the Western European country since the beginning of the pandemic, writes The Guardian.
The number of new cases at one of Europe's largest coronary hearths is continuing to rise, nearly a week after the government imposed partial isolation measures, including closing bars and restaurants.
Meanwhile in France, the government said several other regions would be brought under red warning status, meaning they would be obliged to set police hours.
