A year after its world premiere, production of Volvo XC40 Recharge P8 AWD began.
Volvo, as well as BMW, began producing the first electric model SV in late September.
Just as in the case of BMW iX3, which is similar to X3 conventional, the Swedish manufacturer designed its own electric SUV with XC40 regular.
XC40 Recharge P8 AWD is mounted on a compact mechanical platform Modelar Archaeology (CMA) developed along with the Chinese group Geely, which also owns Volvo.
The power pressure system is shared with the Polish 2 model and consists of two electric engines with a total force combined by 408 horsepower (300 kW). Thanks to them, Recharge XC40 accelerates from 0.0100 km/h per 4.9 seconds, while maximum speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h.
Engines are fed by a lithium-on 78 kWh battery, which provides maximum autonomy to 418km, according to the W Standard LTP.
Volvo claims that a battery in a fast filler can refuel 0-80% of capacity in 40 minutes.
Volvo XC40 Recharge is produced in Belgium, and the price in Germany starts from 60,437 euros without state subsidies.
