Today, the first president of the Kosovo Football Federation, Agim Bytyqi, has died.
As a reminder, the current president of this organization, Agim Ademi, has responded with a comforting letter:
From today, it is no longer among us that entered Kosovo football history as the first president of the Kosovo Football Federation. With the separation from the life of Agim Bytyqi we cannot easily agree, but here life is such and each of us will one day go to the eternal world.
However, his work, contribution, and ideal for our country and football will especially remain in our memory and history. Even though we were very old, Agim Bytyqi, I've known him since the first days of football education. He was a man of high intellectual personality, but he was also courageous and a native.
Today on this painful day, I proudly remember his courage and that of many of his contemporaries when they made their decision to lay the first foundation for the creation of the Kosovo Football Federation.
It was a difficult start, because 1991 was a period of overturning everything that was Albanian by the Serbian occupationist and the creation of the federation and the development of football racing seemed impossible.
However, the great will and desire to resist the enemy even through football gained over the sense of danger and depression. Agim Bytyqi was placed at the helm of the federation and along with many football lovers and other natives began traveling what we today represent with dignity and responsibility.
Being in charge of football at that time was certainly not easy, since the conqueror did not choose means to stop all that was inspired in Albanian, but Agim Bytyci and many other football enthusiasts succeeded in advancing the mission that they had undertaken with glory and pride despite many abuses by the then regime.
Therefore, we will never forget the extraordinary work and courage of his and other associates that even under the conditions of occupation with the support of all clubs began Kosovo's new football story.
His determination to work even under such difficult circumstances will be an example to us even in the period when we are already internationally recognised and have created a high-value identity in the world of football.
Goodbye, my friend.
With respect,
Agim Ademi, president of NFF
