The injury came after a blow from Everton's goalkeeper Yordan Peckford, who was no longer sanctioned by any card because he was out of the picture.
Although the exact rate of injury is not yet known, reports show that Van Dijk has damaged the knee's crude ligaments (ACL), and will most likely not play any matches again in this season.
