Real Madrid will continue to play matches at the “Alfredo di Stéfano” stadium, including the Champions League, but the works of the “renovation Santiago Bernabeu” is continuing quickly and is not excluded for fans to fill the fables of the legendary stadium by the end of the year. UEFA, following experience in Budapest with Europe's Supercup, has decided to open the doors to football fans. But it will be the authorities of each country, the ones that will decide whether fans can return to the stadium or not from the Pande-19 pandemic.
This does not mean that “Santiago Bernabéu” may be witnessing a football match soon. However, progress has been made in upgrading the plant in seven months without football. Everything is planned for the plant structure to comply with new needs and new modernisation plan. The deadline for completion of the work is set for the summer of 2022. Everything is subject to government permission and health authorities, but in Spain, the situation is currently in full emergency, especially Madrid.
