So said the Commission for Agriculture, Forestry, Rural Development, Infrastructure and Environment, where they are presented for problems with the collection of milk on the part of Kosovo farmers from the co-ordination council of milk farmers, Ramadan Memaj.
Memaj said the biggest problems are with collecting milk. The latter has also raised concern with importing palm oil products, which he said was a flagrant violation of the law.
In Kosovo at the moment, there are over 70 thousand liters of milk that are failing to sell. Now in recent times we have the temperature of closing farms, the inability to survive as a result of the situation. From the ground comes information that 50 percent of prices have been reduced. The price reduction issue endangers a large portion of farmers who, even if they sell milk in this form, fail to survive”, he has declared.
Memaj said they have insisted on help, but there has been no reflection taking concrete action. According to him, their demands and concerns have been overlooked.
There are flagrant violations of the law, where importation of palm oil products is allowed, about 10 million pounds per year. They come through the veterinary certificates”, he says.
AVUK has, according to him, allowed to import products that have no knowledge of its contents.
He stressed that they have delivered criminal gossip to AVUK to the State Prosecutor, but that nothing has been undertaken so far.
