Turkish Ambassador to Albania: The 500 dwellings we build end in July

Minister for Reconstruction Arben Ahmetaj during a conference with Turkish Environment and Urbanisation Minister Murat Kurum said the project represents technological innovation and goes beyond emergency construction.

Arben Ahmetaj: “Work for reconstruction has begun. The project is thought to be about 500 residences for citizens who have lost homes in the Thumana and Laci area, accompanied by commercial facilities and two important public environments. We're talking about Thumana School and City Hall building.

Albania has always been in the focus of President Erdogan, Minister Murat Kurum said, as he said building residences is a duty to Albanian brothers.

Murat Kurum: “We tried to be side by side with the Albanian brothers. We've offered assistance, we've been able to handle umbrella and food needs. In addition to urgent demands, President Erdogan has promised to build 500 residences to meet the needs for housing. We've started this process right away. The residences will adapt to your culture and we intend to end up within 6 months”

Within this year, the government targets reconstruction and construction of all residences in rural areas that were damaged by the November 26th earthquake, as well as regulation of damage in schools and health centres. The reconstruction process is expected to be completed in the spring of 2021 with the creation of new urban neighbourhoods in Tirana, Durres, Kavaja, Kruje and Thuman. According to official data, the winter is being spent in umbrellas 10,000 people.
