In an article made public by “Daily Mail”, it is said that hundreds of girls are forced to pass an intimate procedure called “hymennoplastic” to prove that they are virgin for their wedding night and pay relatively high amounts for it.

An investigation by “Sunday Times” found that there are at least 22 clinics offering private service, mainly in London.

Some private clinics require up to 3,000 pounds and attract patients with ads promising that the operation could restore their innocence “and that there are “100 per cent safe”.

Most are young Muslim women from Middle Eastern and Asian families under pressure to marry virgins.

Mohammad Masood, director of “MAS Gynecology” said the requirements for procedure at his clinic “Harley Street” had increased fourfold since 2014.

He said his patients usually found it through the internet and there were “almost all Muslims”.

This surgical intervention is legal in the United Kingdom. Maswood denied claims that they were looking for ways to benefit women who want to marry virgins and that they are simply offering a service.
