According to a new study published in America's Journal of Medicine, having regular sex increases long - term survival rates after a heart attack.
Almost 1120 male and female participants in this research, all 65 years old and younger, have been traced since the first time they experienced heart attacks since 1992 - 1993.
Since then, at least 524 people have died, while of survivors who had relations of 27% were less likely to die during the study period, reports “Daily Star”.
Those who have had sex once a week had 12% less likely to die. Performing weekly relations after a heart attack cut mortality rates by 27% more than once a week.
Researchers also said that “not surprisingly, people who were sexually active and in a relationship were younger and generally healthier.
