“So far has not been possible to reach an agreement”, he stressed during the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, on a panel attended by Turkish Foreign Affairs Minister Mevlut Cavushoglu.
“We will do everything we can to resolve this issue, unequivocally reveals problems within the” coalition, he added.
The Turkish minister supported the purchase of these Russian equipment.
“Do we need this system? Yes, because of the threats surrounding us. Have we been able to secure it from NATO allies? Not”, he stressed.
“We think they do not match NATO mechanisms. It is a defence system and poses no threat to NATO allies”, he added, proposing the creation of a working group to solve the problem.
Buying the S-400 missile system, considered one of the achievements of the Russian military industry, is a key issue of disagreements between Ankara and Washington. / A T S/
