Scientists have confirmed that finding love makes you healthier.
One massive study revealed that while couples tend to have a healthier life - style than when they are single, they are healthier.
The leading author of the Stephanie Schoeppe study has collected data from ten years of 15 thousand students and found that couples in a happy relationship have about five pounds [5.8 kg] of weight more than their single peers.
The Central Queensland University “in Australia says that couples consume more fruits and vegetables, and tend to avoid fast food, alcohol and cigarettes.
But the reward for all this good habit? People in a relationship take on more weight, no matter how single they exercise and have a sedentary lifestyle.
Schoeppe thinks people in a relationship have no desire to impress others.
When couples don't want to look attractive and lose weight to attract a partner, they feel comfortable eating more, or more fatty and sugar foods. When couples have children at home, they tend to eat and the foods children leave”, the author says.
Dr. Jeric Berge, of the University of Minnesota, says romantic dinners, couch petting is the main cause.
Romantic evenings often revolve around eating and drinking together, plus obligations such as family food, partying at night means that there are many reasons you can get fat with your partner.
