Moscow considers that the establishment of the Kosovo Army presents “serious security threats in the Balkans.
According to Russia's Foreign Ministry communiqué, the “establishment of the Kosovo Army and the support of key NATO members, for it presents drastic violations of UN Security Council Resolution 1244 in which the need for deilitarisation of all Kosovo Albanian armed groups” is stressed.
The communique stresses that Russia has previously considered the establishment of the Kosovo Army a threat.
Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, has said Russia opposes Western countries' efforts to discuss the UN Security Council on the situation in Kosovo, to be brought to minimum”, writes the Russian ministry's statement. /Periscopi/
