Policemen Still Without Health Insurance

Sami Thaci is the 21st police officer in charge. He lost his life as a result of the explosion of an explosion vehicle during a raid on a house in the village of Zhur, where two other policemen were injured. From the founding of the Kosovo Police until now, 21 officials [...]
Since the founding of the Kosovo Police and so far, 21 of its officials have lost their lives at the helm of the task. The first case was recorded in September 2001, and the last one last night in the nuclear action in Zhur.
Despite the risks facing police in Kosovo, the latter continue to work without health and vital insurance, even though the demand for such a thing is imminent.
The deputy head of the Kosovo Police Union, Shaban Tasholli, has said that all cases so far, as well as last night's tragic case, are evidence that urgently, the country's institutions must resolve this vital issue for Kosovo police employees.
Tasholli said it is unacceptable that 21 Kosovo police officers have fallen to the helm.
Now there are 21 cops who died on duty with what happened to us last night, it's very unlikely for us, very vulnerable for us that at this time we as such a young country with such a small population with a joy we've expected our freedom and that police officers be killed in charge by our own people, it's very unacceptable for us”, he said.
According to him, police officials work without life insurance and disability pensions, and no one has ever given an epilogue to this issue.
From 2003 it's about health insurance and it's not yet happening to all the rulers a voice that prioritizes the police for their commitment, but to this day these jobs have been on deaf ears. The policeman works without health insurance, no life insurance, no disability pension, no regular pension, it's all the worries the Kosovo Police have, and until now nobody is going to make it a point that from now on these things are going to start working out. We are the only police officer in the world who can call him without health insurance and vital and disability retirement”, he said.
As a priority, Tashol mentioned that all police officers who get hurt at their workplace receive medical treatment free of charge.
The deputy head of the Kosovo Police Union told Kosova Prees that the family of the dead officers in the workplace receive 80% of the pay, while those from natural death receive only 60 percent of the salary.
“The husband or his children will enjoy a pension from the Kosovo Police... 80 percent from the salary, while those who have natural death 60 percent” said Tashol.
For police killed last night in Zhur, Prizren, Sami Thaci the Kosovo government today has earmarked 15 thousand euros, while for wounded officers Arthur Mrasor and Jetmir Hasanaj, the government in office allocated between 10,000 euros.
In this case, suspect Iran Bandali has been detained in the course of 48 hours, and during the day it is expected that at the Constitutional Court in Prizren, the same demand for the detention measure's appointment is submitted. The Constitutional Prosecutor in Prizren is taking all investigative actions to complete the case.
Also, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci awarded police Sami Thaqi today at Kosovo's “Hero command”.
