According to a Serbian Foreign Ministry announcement, Dacic has expressed gratitude for the support Palestinians have given Serbia in international organisations, failing to vote for Kosovo membership.
“We are grateful to Palestine for the principled support of Kosovo, and this support is of great importance because Palestine is highly esteemed, not only in the Muslim world, but also in other countries”, the Serbian top diplomat has said.
The report reportedly said Palestinian diplomacy chief Riyadh Al Malik has shown support for Serbia's stance on Kosovo, saying they (Palestinians) cannot accept any position that is not in line with Serbia's stance on Kosovo.
Dachic and Al Malik also signed several co-operation agreements.
Dacic, has recalled that the former Yugoslavia was among the first “to recognise the Palestinian state”, even before several Arab countries.
In 2012, Palestinians have managed to gain the status of “non-member observer states” in the United Nations Organisation.
Israel and the United States had rejected the resolution.
