The Kremlin announced that German waitress Angela Merkel has accepted the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Russia on January 11th.
Putin's media service said he and Merkel will discuss the crisis in the Middle East, which has deepened since a US attack has killed Iran's Kurdish leader, Qasem SolemannJanuary 3rd.
Kremlin said the two leaders will also talk about the situation in Syria, Libya and Ukraine.
Merkel's office also confirmed that the German Chancellor plans to visit Russia on January 11th and meet Putin.
Merkel's spokesman, Stephen Seibert, said Merkel will discuss “the current international issues” with Putin. These include: Syria, Libya, Iran, Iraq and Ukraine.
Seibert added that Russia “is an important member on the world stage” and that “is inevitable when it comes to resolving conflicts in the world”.
German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas will accompany Merkel to Moscow, Seibert said as well.
