Leonardo DiCaprio has donated three million dollars to help Australia.
The organisation has opened fire fund in Australia to benefit from ongoing efforts to strengthen climate resistance in the future, writes Rolling Stone.
According to the Associated Press, Leonardo DiCaprio's environmental organisation, “Eath Alliance”, will donate $3m for fire relief efforts in Australia.
“Eath Alliance” opened the Australia fund to help donate funds while also asking for help from others.
According to the web fund site, 100 per cent of the donations will go directly to the fire departments, support for affected communities and wildlife rescue operations.
The Australian fire fund will work in co-operation with other organisations, Aussie Ark, Bush Heritage and Wires Wildfire Rescue.
Fires in Australia began in September and destroyed some 20 million acres [20 million ha] and more than 2,000 homes, while at least 27 people and more than one billion animals were killed.
DiCaprio and Earth Alliance join a large list of celebrities who have donated in the fire relief effort.
They also helped: Nick Cave, Chris Hemsworth and Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Elton John, Metallica, etc.
