Konjufca as chiefparliamentary seeks from Serbs to be released Neziri Mehmetaj

New Kosovo Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca has reacted following a court's decision in Serbia for the 30-day sentence of Nezir Mehmetaj, who was returning from Serbia where he had been in hospital for his mother's health needs. “With concern we received news of the arrest of Kosovo citizen Nezir [...]
“With concern we received news of the arrest of Kosovo citizen Nezir Mehmetaj, who was returning from Serbia where he had been in hospital for his mother's health needs. There were some reactions yesterday from Kosovo political institutions and subjects, and from many citizens, who sought Mr. Mehmetaj. But instead of being released, today we learned that Serbia's courts have decided to hold it for 30 more days”, writes Konjufca on Facebook.
He has said such behaviours that charge a neighbouring country's ethnicity do not promise much good for the future, while calling for Mehmetaj to be released as soon as possible.
This is injustice. Serbia is arbitraryly arresting whom to address, from Kosovo citizens who pass through that country out of trouble, not pleasure. With these gestures Serbia is telling us that it has not yet changed the political mentality of Kosovo and Albanians, who deal violently and with arbitraries, as if they were second-hand people. We call on Serbia to allow Mr. Nezir Mehmetaj returns to his family's hearth, and changes his approach to Kosovo and its citizens. We are in the 21st century and these behaviors must be stopped, however, even though not two decades have passed since the genocide massacres you committed against us”, Conjufca concludes.
