After being fined by the European Commission in 2018, Google seems to have learned a lesson.
Because of this, they decided to offer alternatives so Android users can choose their search engine by choice. This will be possible through a new selection display on all Android phones that are first configured.
There will be three options, depending on where the user lives. Google has created a separate auction system to select options that will be provided with its search engine.
During the auction process, there was an initial minimum price in each country. The grand winner was DuckDuck Go, who will be offered in all EU countries.
DuckDuckGo does not require or use personal information for users, so it is considered an advantage over Google.
However, it lacks some options that Google search users have already been used, and it will still take time for new users to adapt to it
