Bishops have issued a ministerial guide in response to the recent instructions of mixed sex civil partnerships, which says: “for Christians, marriage which is, the life union between a man and a woman, contracting with oath-making remains the proper context for sexual activity. ”
The church “seeks to maintain this standard” in its approach to civil partnerships, and “affirm the values of sexually abstaining friendships” between these partnerships, writes The Guardian, term Periscopi.
It adds: The sexual relationship outside the heterosexual marriage is not considered to be related to God's purpose for human beings. ”

The Civil Partnership Act came into force in December 2005, allowing couples of the same sex to obtain status and legal rights in terms of property, heritage and taxes. /Periscope
