Premierliga Judges are told to use the screen on the field when VAR wants to review a red card decision, as only Michael Oliver did it at the FA Cup.
All season i THE VAR has been criticised for its use, causing many to ask whether he should be kept in the field, and one of the biggest cases has been judges who refused to look at the field screen.
This will change this weekend, according to The Times. At a meeting this weekend, officials of the Ltd Professional Games match, which manage the elite judges, reportedly told officials to use the Judge's ratings area whenever the VAR wants to change a red card decision, the news releases.
There is no example at the Premierliga of a judge using the screen to improve or give a card this season, but a high-level judge has already put it into practice.
During the third round match of the FA Cup Crystal Palace vs Derby County, Oliver checked the screen when VAR wanted to update Luca Milivojevic's yellow card.
Oliver consulted the screen after the Palace players crashed into Tom Hoodleston and agreed that the yellow card was not enough and changed it into a red card.
