Rob Macitaire said he had gone to a event to honour the victims of the tragedy where 176 people died from an air accident.
He said it was normal to want to honor the victims, adding that some of the 176 dead were British, writes The Guardian, records Periscopi.
Then he also declared that he had left after only five minutes, when he was arrested until returning to the embassy.
