BMW said it would close three of its factories in the Chinese town of Shenyang, where it employed about 18,000 people and produced half a million vehicles every year because of the coronary explosion.
The week-long Chinese New Year's Review has lasted for a week until February 9,”, said a BMW spokesman in Munich.
He added that only office employees in Shenyang will return to work Monday, however, they will work from home.
The spokesman gave no additional information on what will happen beyond February 9th.
