More than 50 men, women and children gathered on Sunday in Bonython Park in Adelaide to demand that the rain falls for farmers and fire victims in Australia.
Patrick Priest McInerney also joined the worshipers in prayer, writes the Daily Mail.
“Today I joined my Muslim brothers and sisters in Adelaide in prayer for rain,” he said.
The move came a day after pilot Dick Lang, 78, and his 43-year-old son, Clayton, lost his life in fires on Cangaroo Island, on the coast of South Australia. The two had been fighting the flame and were returning to family property when they even ended up tragicly.
South Australian Prime Minister Steven Marshall said that losing lives was tragic news.
Our hearts are directed to the families of those people who are affected,” he said.
Major damage has caused massive fires in Australia in recent days. About 500 firefighters will continue to fight uncontrolled flames, which are burning the country./ P ERISCOPI/
