Ancient Secret: What happens to us when we dream?

Dreams seem to say things we have no courage to express to ourselves. Places, people, objects, they combine in an unintelligible way that we would never have imagined. Sometimes it's like we've known this brief reality before.

The ancient inhabitants of America asked their children to remember as many dreams they saw because they believed that a part of the soul leaves the body when we dream. According to them, every man has three souls; the first is the soul of the ego, which gives us breath; the second is the soul of the body, which energizes the body when we awake, and the other, the free soul.

The free spirit, they said, leaves the body when we dream. This part of the soul is able to travel to other dimensions, while the other two remain in the body. Native Americans believed that the body, our mind; it is the free soul that is cut into a completely different reality, where it meets other souls of humans and other creatures.

According to this belief, there are other dimensions that communicate with us through dreams. The free spirit tries to warn us through the dream, warn us, advise, tell us something that will happen or happen.

Modern thinking explains dreams as a way of bringing up the thoughts and memories of unconsciousness, which to some extent meets with the faith of ancient Americans. Even psychologists have been unable to define ultimately what the mind is, so such as Gustav Jung combine psychology with spirituality.

Either way, our dreams show us an unknown dimension of ourselves, regardless of what we call it: “conscience” or “spirit”.
