New American Ambassador Yuri Kim arrives in Albania

Thirteen days after taking the oath at the American State Department, the new Washington diplomatic chief arrives in Albania in Tirana.

After a brief stay at the VIP terminal at Tirana airport, from which she was met by Embassy staff, she has headed towards the capital to begin her first day of working as ambassador Thursday.

After Mariza Linos and Marcie Ries, she is the third female diplomat to head Washington's headquarters on Elbasan Street.

Your Kim comes to Tirana after nominated the White House before her, Kathleen Cavalec, could not get the green light from the Senate as a result of a lobby against her for whom Fiona Hill was a former security adviser to President Trump said at the American congress, that she came from a political party in Albania.

Yuri Kim is the first Korean-American woman to represent the US in the post of ambassador and the first person from Guam's American territory serving in such a post.

She was born in Korea and grew up on Guam Island, a US territory in the Pacific Ocean.
