Why do many people spend their leisure time shopping, even if they don't need it? Material wealth generates happiness but only temporarily. A few days after a new purchase, pleasure ends, and you immediately have to buy another one.
The problem with this kind of addiction is that we try to buy happiness, not products. Money can certainly make life easier, less stressful, and solve problems - but it cannot buy happiness.
According to a study conducted by Cornell University, there is a way to break this vicious circle - travel. The journey makes us happy before, during, and after - memories will last forever, generating a sense of well - being.
The key to all of this is experience. Although buying material goods gives us new moments, they will end up becoming part of our daily life, and for this boring reason. The journey will instead be part of our identity: Travel experiences become part of us, enriching and changing us.
