According to The Independent daily, the study presented Friday at a summit of cardiologists from around the world examined the link between dried fruits and the risk of death from cardiovascular diseases in the Iranian population.
Participants were asked every two years until 2013 to see their cardiovascular problems.
Among the participants were 751 cardiovascular events, 179 cardiovascular deaths and 458 deaths because of all kinds.
Eating dried fruit 2 or more times a week, according to experts, lowers the risk of dying from cardiovascular diseases by 17 percent, compared to their consumption 1 times to 2 weeks. The connection was a prisoner even after considering other factors such as age, sex, education, tobacco and physical activity,
The European Society of Cardiology lists 30 grams of saltless dried fruit as one of the characteristics of a healthy diet, stressing that their energy density is high. /javanews
