The company now wants to do something similar in the field of electric cars.

The car, which was supposed to play Golfi's role among electric vehicles, does not bear the wonderful ID.3 sign and was introduced at the Frankfurt car fair.

The announcement by Volkswagen will be the first in a series of electrical models the company intends to offer to customers for the coming years.

For ID.3, a five-door compact cover was selected, meaning that the car belongs to the so-called Golf class in terms of dimensions.

Group production begins in November, and the German producer has already received over 30,000 messages from interested buyers.

VW ID.3 is mounted on an MB mechanical platform developed exclusively for electric vehicles. The batteries are on the floor of the car and the electric engine is in the back. Power is transmitted to the rear shaft of the vehicle.

The car has a modern design and low air resistance of just 0.267, and weighs 1,719kg.

Consumers will be offered three versions of ID.3, which, among other things, will change in the capacity of the car battery and in the autonomy of direction. The base reference has 45 kWh batteries, which allow the car to travel up to 330km without stopping.

The other on the line is a 58 battery model. KWh and maximum autonomy of 420km, and at the top of the gamma, there is a car with batteries 77 kWh and an interval of up to 550km.

Volkswagen says that with the help of a quick 100 kW filler, the battery will be able to reload the car for another 290km in about 30 minutes.

All three versions are powered by a 204 horsepower engine. The manufacturer has not yet announced data and performance, but has announced that high speed will be electronically limited to 160km/h.

At the start of the sale, Wolfgang will offer customers the so-called ID option.3 1ST Edition exclusively in the 58kWh middle battery version.

Volkswagen has promised earlier that the price of the basic version of the ID.3 model in Germany will not exceed 30,000 euros.
