People who are naturally thin may be able to maintain their weight without much effort because fat cells are genetically more efficient, the study says.
Scientists observed the actions of fat cells in groups of men and women who could eat anything they wanted without weight. Their stomach fat cells were about half the size of the normal mass and had more energy to destroy fat than in other people.
The findings add to the belief that thin people have some genetic advantages when it comes to carrying their weight.
The group of scientists from Switzerland has discovered their findings in the American Nutritical journal. These are the first findings in this regard.
“We showed for the first time, for our knowledge, that the constantly small burden of people is related to the features in white tissues that are red with those of the obezase”, they say.
Fat cells were 40% smaller in people who are underweight than in others. This affects their having faster metabolism.
