“We are convinced that we will be safer, more prosperous and richer, unless all our neighbours become EU members”, Bulgarian diplomacy chief Ekaterina Zaharieva has said at the meeting.

“Bulgaria signed Friendship Agreements with the Republic of Northern Macedonia, and it must be implemented. Albania must improve legislation and harmonise it with the European one. Bulgaria supports the start of membership negotiations with both countries”, Zaharieeva has stressed.
Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Dendias has stressed that Greece emerges from the ten-year crisis during which it was heading towards itself, but will now again engage in the Balkan foreign plan and European themes.
“Support Albania and Northern Macedonia for EU membership”, Dendias has declared.
Romanian diplomacy chief Manescu was committed to Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Croatia continuing to co-ordinate activities about EU enlargement policy.
We should support our neighbours and continue the commitment Bulgaria led that process during its chairmanship with the EU. The division of Albania and Northern Macedonia will be a big mistake and I appreciate that the time has come for the two countries to receive a positive”, Manescu has said.
Croatian Foreign Affairs Minister Gordan Gerlich Radman has also supported the start of membership negotiations with Skopje and Tirana, while committed to further development of good neighbourly relations in the region.
