Vetevendosje Movement leader Albin Kurti is holding a rally in Tirana under the campaign for the October 6th snap elections in Kosovo.
The Albanian “Spring starts from Kosovo”, is called the Vetevendosje Centre initiative in Tirana, and aims to engage Albanian citizens in the Kosovo elections.
During discussions with those present, Kurti stressed that Vetevendosje in the direction of the Kosovo government will aim for much greater co-operation with Tirana. But otherwise, Kurti warned, lack of co-operation would be challenged.
With Albania we aim for co-operation, if absent then there will be challenges. It is not acceptable that the two states of one nation are not even as united as the EU states”, Kurti said.
I am optimistic, he added, that when Vetevendosje is in government, then they will realize that this is a new situation.
As far as international pressure is concerned with lifting the 100% tax on Serbian products, Albin Kurti indicated he has no intention of withdrawing if he wins the elections.
Kosovo's “politicians always complain about international pressure, I never complained. Internationals have never put pressure on me. Actually, I'm a little curious because I want to know what this pressure looks like. We meet, but we haven't been pressured. They come to hear us... I believe that resistance precedes pressure”, Kurti said, alluding that international pressure is greater where resistance is smaller.
