Kosovo marks Day without Victims on Road, 15 less victims

Kosovo Police Colonel Rexhepi lives on a table organised by the “College, said police are willing to support projects affecting the raising of awareness for all participants who must respect communications rules.

According to him, today is marked with 15 fewer victims if compared with the same period last year.

“We mark this day with 15 victims less than last year with the same period of last year for what is the goal not only of recommendations coming out of the EU, but of the same UN, but of the same key recommendations are on strategy and on the strategic and annual plans of relevant institutions to have as few accidents in particular, we work that the number of accidents with persons who lose life and those who are seriously hurt have a smaller number compared to the previous years. As the Kosovo Police in co-operation with the Ministry of Education, Infrastructure, relevant municipalities and the municipality of Pristina, we have identified 159 schools that will have lectures”, he said.

And Academy of Technical Sciences Director “Team” Muhamed Krasniqi said the number of road accidents cannot be made zero, but the number of accidents could be significantly reduced.

A less accident, a less injured, a less dead on the street means more security on the street and that's the target of today's note. We need to be rational that our goal does not achieve zero numbers of accidents in one day, but it may significantly reduce the number of accidents should not stop on a single day like today on September 26th, but it should be accompanied by concrete and consistent actions. All road users should stop for a moment to reflect and take continuous small actions leading to major improvements in road safety”, he said.

In a European Day note without Victims on the Road, Fejzullah Mustafa from the Council for Security in Road Communications near the Ministry of Infrastructure said they are working on a good infrastructure with fewer accidents.

“We are in the value of modernising road infrastructure for a better road infrastructure for fewer accidents because we have less accident statistics on Kosovo highways. We are in the course of certain legal acts as far as it is concerned about including road security that is involved with administrative guidelines or legal acts by relying on road infrastructure that in modern European jargon we are in drafting RSI instruction, RSA or road safety, auditing and inspection of road safety, and we are in the course of drafting some administrative guidelines that deal directly with the” vehicle, Mustafa said.

September 26th, the European Day without Victims on the Road was also marked in Kosovo with a series of activities that have focused the awareness of society.
